On this day back in 1985 four country super stars, performing as a group, hit the top of the charts.

Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings and Kris Kristofferson formed a super group Called "The Highwaymen". Over the years they had worked with each other individually, but never as a group.

They were all instrumental in what was called the "outlaw movement" in country music.

As "The Highwaymen" they released a song of the same name. It went to number one and it led to an album which was called "The Highwaymen".
