After this weekend everyone is talking tennis at Texas Tech. Not only did the Tech women's win the Big 12 title with their win over Iowa State, but the Tech men's tennis team did what they had to do. That was to beat the University of Texas and that is what they did.

November 1, 2008 ESPN's College Gameday came to Lubbock for the first time. Chris Fowler, Lee Corso and Kirk Herbstreit set up shop on the Texas Tech campus before the Tech/ Texas Longhorn Game. The Longhorns were ranked #1, the Red Raiders were ranked #7.

It took 35 years but the Texas Tech Lady Raider tennis team finally won the Big 12 title by beating Iowa State 5-2. They made school history by winning the conference title and advancing to the NCAA tournament. The most encouraging thing is that there are no seniors on this team. They all come back next year.
