The Highly Anticipated P.E.T.S. Clinic of Lubbock Sets Opening Date After COVID-19 Delay
This highly-anticipated Lubbock P.E.T.S. Clinic is looking to make pet care dramatically more affordable for those in need. They've faced a significant delay in opening due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and are now getting set to open for us Monday, June 1st, 2020 at 2207 34th Street, according to Executive Director for Lubbock Angie Skinner.
This low-cost clinic for dogs and cats was originally set to open this past March. They tell us they had 750 appointments booked. Now they are working diligently to re-book those appointments.
This much-needed low-cost clinic is a non-profit clinic and is funded by donations. It offers wellness care, spaying and neutering, vaccines, heartworm prevention, micro-chips, de-worming, nail trims and more, Everything is offered at dramatically reduced rates.
This is their mission, according to their website:
Provide high-quality, low-cost spays and neuters, veterinary services, and community-focused programs in a kind, nonjudgmental environment to ensure every pet has access to and can remain in a loving home.
P.E.T.S. was founded in Wichita Falls in 2007 to address the overwhelming over-population of shelters there. Founder, President and CEO Leslie Harrelson realized the significant need for spay and neuter to prevent the ongoing overpopulation issue in shelters. It's a crisis we're facing in Lubbock as well.
The P.E.T.S clinic in Wichita Falls has done a remarkable job and has expanded to Amarillo, Graham, and now here in Lubbock.
You can visit their website for details and more information. Due to COVID-19, you will need to call ahead for an appointment. Call them at 806-507-0836.
