Poppin’ A Top On Thirsty Thursday [VIDEO]
On this "thirsty Thursday" is one of the all time drinkin' songs in country music. This song comes from a singer who began his career singing with his sisters.
Jim Ed Brown with his sisters Maxine and Bonnie were known as The Browns and scored a huge hit in 1959 called "The Three Bells". But by 1965 Jim Ed began a solo career.
Two years later in 1967 he scored with a song that would become a beer drinkin anthem called "Pop A Top". It would reach number three on the charts and become his signature song. Years later Alan Jackson recoreded the song and took it to the top of the charts again.
