How You Can Donate to Help the Hobbs Baby Found in a Dumpster
On Tuesday, Hobbs Police announced ways that you can donate to help the baby that was found alive in a dumpster on Friday, January 7th.
Avila apparently did this shortly after she gave birth, saying that she "panicked." Avila claimed that she was unaware that she was even pregnant until the day before she gave birth, and admitted to police that she cut the umbilical cord, wrapped the baby in a towel, place the baby in a white trash bag with other trash, and then put that bag inside a larger trash bag.
The baby is currently in the care of Covenant Children's Hospital in Lubbock and in the custody of New Mexico's Children, Youth & Families Department. He was last listed in stable condition.
Anyone wishing to make a donation to benefit the baby can do so in person at the New Mexico Children, Youth & Families Department's office, located at 907 West Calle Sur in Hobbs, New Mexico. Monetary donations won't be accepted, but you can donate gift cards, toys, clothes, diapers, and hygiene products.
