Fried Bubblegum At This Year’s State Fair

The Texas State Fair is known for different deep fried concoctions. In the past there has been deep fried snickers, twinkies and of all things, deep fried butter. This year there are some new delights.

Are you ready for deep fried bubblegum! But that is not the only new thing on the menu.

Other finalist for the Big Tex Choice Awards are deep fried Texas salsa, deep fried banana rolled in a flour tortilla and a deep fried pineapple upside down cake.

There are more but I think my favorite is the deep fried sausage and sauerkraut ball, which is a puffy pastry stuffed with garlic and onion, covered in bread crumbs. Yum.
