According to the COVID-19 update from State Fair of Texas officials, the decision was not an easy one to make.

Everything is bigger in Texas! Even our greeting statue at the State Fair, but Big Tex was more than just a statue. He was a public figure, an ICON, if you will, of Texas and early this morning he caught fire and burned down.

The Texas State Fair is known for different deep fried concoctions. In the past there has been deep fried snickers, twinkies and of all things deep fried butter. This year there are some new delights.
