Update: One person has died after a crash Monday afternoon in Lubbock.

According to the Lubbock Police Department, 69-year-old Howard Wright was pronounced dead after being transported to University Medical Center.

The second person involved in the crash, 19-year-old Xavier Montalvo, was listed with moderate injuries at UMC as of Monday night.

Police say Montalvo's vehicle struck Wright's as the latter was pulling onto Slide Road.

Original story: Two people were seriously injured after a rollover crash at 75th Street and Slide Road on Monday, February 24th.

The crash happened just after 2:45 p.m., and witnesses say that the crash was related to racing. The southbound lanes of Slide and eastbound lanes in the 5200 block of 75th were closed as crews were on scene.

KAMC News reports that the two were transported by Emergency Medical Services.

LPD's Major Crash Investigation Unit is still investigating the circumstances surrounding this accident.
