When I first heard about this item it is not a stretch to say it changed my life.

I started seeing posts everywhere about this item called 'Xiaolongbao' or soup dumplings and when I finally had it in Austin I was hooked.

Lubbock has so many good Asian places. I have looked everywhere though and no one has soup dumplings. We have plenty of places that have dumplings just not any with soup options.

If you don't know Chinese Soup Dumplings, or xiaolongbao (小笼包), "are perhaps the most perfect single bite of food ever conceived by man. This tantalizing, dreamy snack is probably the most famous dish to come out of the Jiangnan region of China. It is often associated with the city of Shanghai (the largest city in the region by population, and also the largest city in all of China.) They are steamed dumplings consisting of a paper-thin wrapper enveloping a seasoned pork filling and hot, flavorful soup. New and modern versions may also contain other types of meat, seafood, or vegetarian fillings.

I have had them a couple of places outside of Lubbock, they have kind of popped up everywhere. If you have never had one you really are missing out, especially on a cold day.

They have so much flavor and it is like a little surprise inside of them. This is my plea to any restaurant owners in Lubbock to work on adding it to their menu. I will be the first person to check them out.

My two favorite places I have had were in Austin. One is called 1618 Asian Fushion and the other was Lotus Chinese.

I think everyone in Lubbock would love them and you wouldn't have any competition. There are recipes out there for me to make them but I know I wouldn't do a great job. (I have bought the frozen ones but they aren't the same.

If you see any places with it on the menu please let me know.

Sincerely, Kelsee!
