The Prairie Dogs At MacKenzie Park Had No Problem Surviving The Winter
We took a trip to the Prairie Dog Town in MacKenzie Park here in Lubbock, and we're pleased to report that none of them look like they've missed many meals this season!
What a great place to visit here in Lubbock Prarie Dogs will always put on a nice show, they're curious and hectic behavior is so much fun to watch.
I would even go as far to say they're looking a little on the plump side. Look closely at the photo above, this prairie dog looks like a chubby bunny with short ears!
Here's another one who obviously put on a few pounds for winter, maybe they need a New Year's Resolution to hit the treadmill or maybe we can get them a big wheel like the hamsters have! We'll have to talk to the folks at the Windmill Museum, perhaps they can work on that.
Uh-oh it's a show down, but at least they have lots of extra layers to protect them during a fight!
Many of them just sat around in their holes and had a snack.
What was that? Did someone say food?
He's almost wider than he is tall, somebody call Weight-Watchers!
Ah HA! Now I see the problem, they've obviously dug a tunnel to a nearby store and have a huge stash underground, very clever!
In all seriousness though, these little critters are so much fun to watch! Here's DIRECTIONS to this great place to visit right here in Lubbock!
