Most of the college football schedule is a week-by-week claw fest by networks to get certain games at their preferred time. There are very few national games, at least in conference, that have kickoff times pre-scheduled before the season.

There are exceptions, though, like a Thanksgiving game in Austin every other year. In 2019's case, it's an 11 a.m. kickoff the day after Thanksgiving.

The Red Raiders have also confirmed the three non-conference kickoff times, and the exciting news is that the Red Raiders will be heading back to Pac-12 after dark, which is a wild ride for all involved.

The last time Texas Tech participated in the late-night Pac-12 action, Kalen Ballage scored on most of his carries. In fact, I think he just scored another touchdown against Texas Tech. That prime-time slot between Arizona and Texas Tech is scheduled for 9:30 p.m. central on September 14th, 2019 on ESPN.

The season opener will be a home game against Montana State at 3 p.m. on FSSW. It will be hot, but you can bring a bottle of water and they have splash zones at the stadium now. Also, Auburn and Oregon play that night in what's sure to be a wild game. It all works out.

The first night game at The Jones of The Wells Era will also be broadcast on FSSW, when Texas Tech hosts UTEP for a 7 p.m. kickoff on September 7th. That one should be fun.

The rest of the Texas Tech schedule will be a weekly reveal as far as kickoff times, but I'd venture to say you can expect at least one more night game and multiple 11 o'clockers, but that's just me out on a limb.
