Lubbock police officers were out in force at the Covenant Hospital west parking garage Wednesday (May 29th) in the 3600 block of 21st Street.

The Lubbock Police Department said that at around 11 a.m., they were notified of a possible suicidal person on top of the parking garage and responded with officers and negotiators.

According to Lubbock Police Department Public Information Officer Tiffany Pelt, the person was talked down by a team of officers and negotiators, including Detective Keith Anguish, shortly before 1 p.m.

All streets around the Covenant Hospital west parking garage were shut down and later re-opened due to the incident.
