Texas Man Shoots Wife, Calls 911 To Report The Shooting
Sometimes you have to wonder what exactly goes through someone's mind when they do something so crazy, they immediately regret doing it or realize they screwed up.
That brings us to Parker County this past Wednesday when 47 year old Michael Wayne Stearns. According to the Dallas Morning News, Stearns called the Parker County Sheriff's Office to report a shooting. Stearns knew all about the shooting because he had pulled the trigger.
Stearns told deputies that he and his wife were arguing and that he had grabbed a gun and shot her in the side. He also told the Sheriffs Department that he would be sitting on the porch with a shotgun. According to the Dallas Morning News the stories between the wife and husband pretty much lineup.
His wife, who was not identified, told deputies she and her husband were arguing when he became “irate” and shot her as she sat in a chair.
She was taken to the hospital and treated for her injury.
Stearns faces a charge of aggravated assault. He was being held Friday in the Parker County jail, with bail set at $500,000, and it was unclear whether he had an attorney.
The Dallas Morning News reported that he was taken into custody without incident.
The good news is that it sounds like the wife will be okay though she may want to think about living arrangements in the future. Just seems like someone shooting you during an argument while you are sitting down is a red flag.
