Sunday Morning Shooting Kills One and Injures Two

Authorities are investigating a fatal shooting that happened on Sunday, December 12th, 2021.

The Lubbock Police Department reported that the shooting occurred at 4:22 a.m. at the West Texas Auto and Dent Repair, located at 4808 Avenue Q. Upon arrival, officers found three victims suffering gunshot wounds.

The victims were identified as 28-year-old Sergio Valdez, 32-year-old Meagan Pena, and 21-year-old Alijah Viramontes. Valdez and Pena suffered minor injuries, while Viramontes sustained serious injuries.

They were all taken to local hospitals for treatment. Lubbock police later confirmed that Viramontes died from his injuries.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Line at 806-741-1000. A cash reward of $5,000 may be rewarded to someone with information leading to an arrest.

The shooting remains under investigation.
