It was a very proud moment this past Friday night in Columbus Ohio as my younger brother Steve Gilbert was inducted into the Ohio High School Football Coaches Association Hall of Fame.

Steve went into the hall along with five other coaches that included former Ohio State coach Jim Tressel.

Tressel was instrumental in making this a bigger event than in years past and is responsible for having a bronze plaque placed on the east side of Ohio Stadium with all the names of the Hall of Fame members past and present. That is pretty darn cool.

Steve was one of those coaches that could communicate with his players. They would go through a wall for him. He was like their best friend but they also knew that he was still the coach.

In his acceptance speech, Steve point out that football was all about family and that included the community as well and that translated in the success he and the team had.

Speaking about success, here are the numbers on Steve's coaching career.
