Lubbock’s Own Terry Allen and “Amarillo Highway” [VIDEO]
One of the most interesting folks that you'll ever run in to is Lubbock's own beloved artist/musician Terry Allen. Terry graduated with a B.F.A. at Chouindard Art Institute in Los Angeles, California and grew up with the likes of Joe Ely, Jimmie Dale Gilmore, and Butch Hancock all at Monterey High School. It has been said that it was within this group of guys that the whole idea that during the Lubbock Lights that we may have been visited or even blessed with some additional artistic values here in Lubbock, and yes, it came from our alien friends. That may not be the exact way that it all came to light, but I think it is pretty close. Terry is by far one of the most talented folks you'll ever have the pleasure of meeting. Check out this article from Jessie Scott as he talks about Guy Clark, and our own Terry Allen. Then be sure to watch Terry performing his very own "Amarillo Highway."
