Lubbock Police Arrest 5 People in Attempted Kohl’s Robbery
Over the weekend, five people were arrested in connection to an attempted robbery at Kohl’s in the 3300 block of 98th Street.
KAMC News reports that Lubbock police were called to the robbery-in-progress at around 11 p.m. on Saturday (Nov. 16th).
A store employee told police that five suspects had been seen stealing merchandise on a separate occasion, and that they had used a fire exit to escape. This time, police officers waited at the exit outside.
When the suspects encountered the officers, four of them tried to run away, one of which was armed with a handgun. They were all apprehended by police, but two officers were injured in the process and had to be treated at UMC.
Seventeen-year-old Orlando Trillo, 19-year-old Mark Lomeli, 18-year-old Pete Rojas, and 21-year-old Jose Ramirez were arrested and charged with robbery, engaging in organized crime, and evading arrest. An unnamed minor was transferred to the Juvenile Justice Center.
