Trisha Yearwood is the kind of woman who goes for what she wants. From hit records to awards and from cooking shows to her own furniture line, the Georgia native has learned that if you want something bad enough, you can make it happen.

What else does she want to cross off her to-do list? Performing on Broadway, she says.

“I would love to do something on Broadway,” Yearwood admits. “I have always loved musical theatre. (Pauses.) Yeah, that may happen. It’s possible.”

Country Music's Top Female Singers Revealed:

If anyone can make it happen, it's Yearwood. Just three years ago, she starred as Mary in The Passion Live, a modern musical interpretation of the last days of Jesus Christ that aired live on Fox.

Should she make it to Broadway, Yearwood would be following in the footsteps of a select group of country artists who too found their way into the bright lights of the iconic stage, including Jennifer Nettles and Reba McEntire.

“I’ve never been a girl that plans too much,” says Yearwood, who is currently out with her new single “Every Girl in This Town.” “I’ve always just lived my life and have been open to opportunity and trusted that the right things would come to me.”

In fact, that's how it happened when Yearwood was approached to host her now Emmy Award-winning Food Network hit Trisha’s Southern Kitchen.

“It’s always been about what feels right,” she concludes. "That’s always been my mantra. There is also something to believing in God and trusting that the universe has a plan … for all of us."
