Lubbock Municipal Auditorium and Coliseum Demolition Begins

At around 2 p.m. Thursday afternoon, crews began demolishing the outer walls and structure of the Lubbock Municipal Auditorium and Coliseum.

It was also a home site for the Texas Chaparrals of the American Basketball Association in the 1970-71 season. The Chaparrals eventually became the San Antonio Spurs.

The demolition of the Municipal Auditorium and Coliseum will be completed sometime in August.
