Lubbock Kids Will Love This Fun and Free Activity

Lubbock's Science Spectrum is filled with fantastical things for kids and adults alike. STEM education (science, technology, engineering, and math) is a major part of their initiative, and as of this month they're expanding one of these opportunities for their tiniest visitors.

"Tot Come & Go is a hands on science activity time for kiddos that are specifically ages two to five. It's a preschool themed project that occurs every Monday and Wednesday morning. The topics change weekly and it is a completely free activity with standard museum admission," James Nesmith, the administrative manager of Science Spectrum noted.

Traditionally, this fun project was only available between 10:30 and 11:30 a.m., but the Science Spectrum has extended the time from 10:30 a.m. to noon. For those who want to partake, it occurs in the activity room of the children's area of the museum and it's a great way to get your kids excited about science.

"It's just a really good time for them to come and learn. They are very age appropriate crafts and experiments. Besides learning some science content, we also try to involve some fine motor skill activities with it and many times there's also a story as well," Nesmith said.

Best of all, as the name implies, there's no sign up required. Just let your toddler walk in when they are ready to participate and then walk away at any time. This is fantastic considering that preschool age kids tend to be on their own schedule and you never know if or when they will find something engaging.
