When I was a kid growing up in the Dallas area, I would go during the Christmas season to a mall to see a large model train exhibit. It was just one of those things that screamed Christmas and the holidays. I think that's why when I learned about a new exhibit at the Science Spectrum in Lubbock, I thought it was pretty cool. There's just something memorable about model trains and railroads.

The Science Spectrum in Lubbock will be hosting a Holiday Model Railroad Exhibit beginning Friday, December 11th, 2020 until January 4th, 2021.

According to the venue's press release, there will be several model railroads to look at:

Come experience the fun of model trains as the Science Spectrum and the Lubbock Model Railroad Association put on a Holiday train exhibit. Trains of several gauge sizes will be on display, as well as O and G scale trains will be running on two large layouts daily. Kids can even try their hand as a Rail Yard Engineering and control a locomotive as it picks up and drops off freight cars in the G scale rail yard.

The Holiday Model Railroad exhibit will be on display on the ground floor of the Science Spectrum and will be included in the general admission price. The Science Spectrum Museum is also home to an HO scale model railroad exhibit year round on the top floor.

The Science Spectrum will be closed on Christmas Day. If you are looking to get out of the house and look at model trains, do so at the Science Spectrum.
