Lee Roy Parnell Rockin’ It On Rick’s Retro Rack [VIDEO]
Lee Roy Parnell's music is a blend of all kinds of stuff, from blues and rock and roll to soul and country. Parnell was putting out hits in the early 90's.
Parnell was born in Austin. His first public appearance came on Bob Wills' radio show when he was six years old. Later when he was in his teens, he was a member of a band led by a guy that would run for governor, Kinky Friedman and the Texas Jewboys.
After spending about ten years playing the clubs in Austin, he headed to Nashville in the late 80's. There he landed a spot at the famed Bluebird Cafe'.
Finally, Parnell signed a contract with Arista Records. His first commercial success came in 1992 with the album "Love Without Mercy".
From that point on Parnell would continue to put songs into the Top Ten, until the late 90's.
One of his best efforts came in 1995 with the album "We All Get Lucky Sometimes". A song off that album called "Heart's Desire" went into the Top Five.
