LCU Hosting two Family fun Events Halloween Weekend
Halloween is just days away and it is time to rake in the dough, by which I mean candy. Lubbock Christian University is holding their annual Trunk-or-Treat event this year with a little bit of a twist.
Every year Lubbock Christian University's Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) hosts an annual Trunk-or-Treat where families all are across the South Plains are invited to bring their kiddos. The children get to experience the different theme that each vehicle at the Trunk-or-Treat holds put on by different groups aside from just athletes. The different groups vary such as campus organizations, different campus major programs, and social clubs which is what Lubbock Christian University has instead of Greek life like at Texas Tech.
This year along with the annual Trunk-or-Treat will also fall the annual LCU Art Departments festivities which will be Dia de los Muertos themed. Every year the LCU Art Department has some sort of festivities to celebrate the different cultures from around the world and show case their beauty. This year families are invited to participate in hands-on art activities, free food and treats, and even live music from a mariachi band.
Both of these family-friendly events will be held on Sunday, October 30, at the Lubbock Christian University campus. The Trunk-or-Treat will be held at 5502 26th Street in the parking lot of the Rip Griffin Center. The LCU Art Departments Dia de los Muertos Cultural Celebration will be held at 3202 A. Eileen Boulevard. Both events invite children and families to dress up in family-friendly costumes and will both go from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.. Both events are free to the public.
