Amarillo Teacher Makes History With National Award Win
Amarillo isn't a place that receives a whole ton of recognition. Sure, there are things here and there, but it's never anything overly extraordinary, and RARELY is it something that's national recognition.
That all just changed in a big way the other day, and for a very good thing. This is something that definitely has never happened in Amarillo, considering prior to this, it hadn't even happened in the state of Texas.

The Chick-Fil-A Academy
Chick-fil-A has a program called the Chick-fil-A Academy, and across the country, thousands of teachers head it up at their respective schools. The academy is all about teaching students how to become servant leaders and help their communities.
Amarillo High School has a Chick-fil-A Academy chapter, and it's taken very seriously within the walls of the school. Theresa Miller is the head of the Chick-fil-A Academy for Amarillo High, and she has just been recognized in a big way.
National Teacher Of The Year
Miller received one heck of a surprise when the famous Chick-fil-A cow and other representatives showed up at Amarillo High and presented her with the Chick-fil-A National Teacher of the Year award. Miller is the first educator to win this award in the state of Texas.
Miller has been an educator for 27 years now and was absolutely shocked to receive the award. She is a business teacher at Amarillo High and beat out over 1400 teachers across 45 states to receive the coveted award. Congrats to Theresa Miller, an award well deserved for leading our youth!
