Report: Murdered Idalou Teen Was Pregnant by Family Member, Mother Knew About Sexual Abuse

The mother of Holli Jeffcoat, the pregnant 18-year-old special needs girl who was found stabbed to death in her home, is being accused of covering up a history of sexual abuse.

According to court documents obtained by KAMC, Jeffcoat's mother knew about the sexual abuse the teenager endured from an unnamed family member. The mother allegedly instructed her daughter not to tell anyone about the abuse.

Here's how court documents explained the situation:

It was reported that Holli [Jeffcoat] had told her mother…about the sexual abuse and [the mother] told Holli not to tell anyone about the sexual abuse because they would not have anyone to pay the bills in the home. The report also stated that Holli was pregnant by [a family member] and that [he] would pick Holli up from the bus stop and take her out into the country to have sex with her. It was determined that [the mother] applied for a protective order on February 2nd, but had continued to see [the family member].

That family member, who has yet to be identified, was apparently kicked out of the home in late January.

CPS, which had investigated another case involving Jeffcoat in 2008, believed she had been sexually abused at the age of 10, but lacked sufficient evidence to prove who did it.

Holli Jeffcoat was found dead inside her home Wednesday, Feb. 10. She was stabbed several times. Signs of a fire were found in the home, which LSO Lieutenant Bryan Taylor described as an attempt to conceal the crime.

Lubbock County Sheriff's Office said they had a person of interest in the murder on Feb. 12.

Jeffcoat had also told authorities that her 15-year-old sister had been sexually abused. The sister denied it. She was removed from the home by CPS after the murder.

A GoFundMe page created to raise money for Holli Jeffcoat's funeral was started by her uncle Donovan Reed. He claims to have Holli's mother's permission to raise the funds.

No arrests in the case have been made.
