Debi Bryant Holland, the woman once charged for the murder of her own daughter Holli Jeffcoat, pleaded guilty to a lesser charge on Friday, Nov. 22, 2019.

KAMC News reports that as part of her plea deal, the 38-year-old woman has pleaded guilty to a charge of injury to a child and was sentenced to 15 years in prison.

In February 2016, 18-year-old Holli Jeffcoat was found murdered inside a home in Northeast Lubbock. She had been stabbed to death and had her uterus cut out of her. LPD investigators also noted that the house she was found in had been set on fire.

Prosecutors accused Holli's mother, Debi Holland, of trying to cover up the murder. Her husband, James Holland, was arrested when police discovered that just weeks before her death, Holli told officials at her school that he had sexually abused her for years and had gotten her pregnant.

In 2018, James Holland pleaded guilty to capital murder and was sentenced to life in prison. Prosecutors later accused Debi Holland of allowing her husband to molest and abuse her daughter for years.
