“Happy State Bank Robber” Sentenced to 5 Years in Prison
Eddie Estuardo Galindo-Mendez, the Happy State Bank robber, was sentenced on Friday (Nov. 9) to a little less than 5 years in prison for bank robbery.
On November 20, 2017, the suspect handed an employee of the Happy State Bank a note saying that there was a bomb. Galindo-Mendez left the bank on a bike with around $2,500.
Court Records say a fingerprint on the initial suspicious device at Texas Tech found earlier in the day led investigators to a woman who was able to identify Galindo-Mendez based on the bike and the jacket that he wore in surveillance footage.
