Earlier this week, we learned that Lubbock High students would lose their beloved half-day Fridays beginning in the 2017-2018 school year.

Thanks to my wonderful editor, I found out that a GoFundMe page was set up to help raise funds to keep the school's half-day Fridays. But here's the catch: Spencer Howell, the person trying to raise the funds, has set a goal of $1.2 million dollars. That is the same amount the Lubbock ISD would lose in funding if they kept half-day Fridays.

Realistically, we know that this GoFundMe will not raise that type of money. As of the publishing of this story, it's raised just $50. But if it did, it would be pretty funny.Howell has agreed to give whatever funds are raised to the Remember Our Heroes foundation.

So, way to go, Spencer! Giving it the old college, err, I mean high school, try!
