Back in February 2022, I told y'all about this new first ever concept coming to Allsup's well their first one is ready to open here in Lubbock.

You've probably been to an Allsup's before even though there currently is not one open in Lubbock. It's kind of that staple gas station where you can get good food, gas and whatever snacks you need. While you may have been to one like that, this one is going to be different.

According to BuildRite Construction Owner and President Ryan Sanders, the company bought the old Arrogant Texan, located at 1111 University Avenue, and that's where the new Allsup's Express will go.

I got a quick of the inside and have some pictures for y'all to check it out below.

There aren't currently any Allsup's in Lubbock, but there are in surrounding towns. This new location is going to be a "game-changer" and something the company hasn't done anywhere else. We've all had the famous Allsup's burritos, but according to Sanders, Lubbock's first location will also boast a walk-up bar, full kitchen and dining area. The Allsup's in Lubbock will serve alcoholic drinks -- Crown and Coke slushies and more.

It would've been awesome to have something like this when I went to Texas Tech. It's a great location for an Allsup's. The Arrogant Texan was such a great place to eat and an even better location, so it's great to hear something is finally taking its place.

They will have all the coolers and drinks like a normal convenience store but they will also have a slushy machine that will serve up alcohol. There will be no gas pumps.

I will update this post with pictures when I go out there before their opening for y'all to get to see so check back in on Monday!

LOOK: See how much gasoline cost the year you started driving

To find out more about how has the price of gas changed throughout the years, Stacker ran the numbers on the cost of a gallon of gasoline for each of the last 84 years. Using data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics (released in April 2020), we analyzed the average price for a gallon of unleaded regular gasoline from 1976 to 2020 along with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) for unleaded regular gasoline from 1937 to 1976, including the absolute and inflation-adjusted prices for each year.

Read on to explore the cost of gas over time and rediscover just how much a gallon was when you first started driving.
