Lubbock police uncovered new details concerning a deadly car accident that occurred on Tuesday evening in the hub city.

Just after 5 p.m. on Tuesday, one person was killed in a two-car accident at 34th Street and Ironton Avenue.

According to the LPD, the driver of a 2013 Kia Soul failed to yield the right-of-way, resulting in a deadly collision with a Ford Explorer.

The driver of the Kia was identified as Ronnie Hunt (48).

Hunt was transported by emergency medical service vehicle to UMC where he later succumbed to the wounds sustained in the accident.
