Carrie Underwood’s Home Damaged in Tennessee Storms
Tornado warnings hit close to home for Carrie Underwood and her family early Wednesday morning (March 1). While the singer and her family are safe, she shared details of their home's damage after the storm passed.
"Woke up to tornado sirens and hail...our chimney is currently in our driveway...tree limbs everywhere...feels like home. #okie," the singer writes on Twitter.
A tornado watch was issued for much of Middle Tennessee early Wednesday, WKRN.com reports. While the storm has since passed, the state is currently cleaning up in the weather's aftermath. Wind gusts reached close to 70 mph in certain locations, while rain and hail were also reported.
Carrie Underwood's Most Unforgettable Moments
Throughout the state of Tennessee, areas have lost power due to downed power lines and fallen trees. A local weather Twitter account, Nash Severe Wx kept residents in the surrounding areas informed, warning all to stay inside.
As the National Weather Service continues to assess damage throughout the state, the worst of the storm seems to be over.
The storm marks an unfortunate note in Underwood's otherwise celebratory week. The singer shared that her son turned two on Feb. 27 and wrote a special message to him via Instagram.
“Where did two years go? My angel is getting so big,” she writes. “On one hand, it’s so fun to see him learn and grow but on the other, it’s all happening so fast! Happy birthday, little monkey! You are my world…my heart…and I thank God for you each and every day! The two years you have been on this earth have been the best of our lives! Mommy and Daddy love you so much!”
