Can You Believe This Texas Tech Tradition Created Something?
Texas Tech University is known for a lot of things. We have so many traditions but one stands out more than any other to most people, tortilla throwing.
While there is not a set reason for why this tradition happened, there are a lot of speculations and guesses. People think it dates back all the way to the late 1980s and early 1990s because there was a lot of news coverage on it back then.
Now that tradition has thrown a new Texas Tech business in the loop. A Texas Tech alum said their new online store was inspired by the tradition of throwing tortillas at football games.
Tech Tortillas was created in January 2023 to bring “tortilla-style fashions to Red Raider football games.”
It is founded by Kirby Holmes. The stuff he sells is a great way to honor the tradition but keep people out of trouble.
I mean how funny would it be to wear this outfit to a game? People would LOVE IT. Instead of black out the Jones, it's tortilla the Jones.
While some of it is cute and something I would buy for me or someone else. I mean you can even dress up a baby or your dog.
