It's that time of year again, when chunky sweaters warm your body, crunchy leaves blanket the ground and cocktails warm the cockles of your heart.

But have you ever had apple pie vodka? Probably not, and it's the perfect time to make some. In honor of National Vodka Day on Friday (Oct. 4,) this apple pie vodka recipe joins together all of the yummy ingredients from a more traditional apple pie (the food) and infuses them in vodka.

Chill the concoction up for up to three days, and voila!

Enjoy it straight as a shot, or mix it into drinks. Feel free to add a little topping of whipped cream and more cinnamon sugar to make it extra yummy. Delish.com even suggests using the apple pie vodka in perhaps a Moscow mule, or maybe even a mimosa? The world is your oyster.

Apple Pie Vodka Recipe:

Ingredients

1/2 green apple, sliced
1/2 red apple, sliced
1/2 lemon, sliced
2 cinnamon sticks
2 cups vodka

Directions

In a large mason jar, add apple slices, lemon slices, and cinnamon sticks. Pour in vodka, close the jar, and shake a bit. Refrigerate until infused, at least 24 hours and up to three days.

Make a shot: Dip a shot glass in water, dip rim in cinnamon sugar, and fill with apple pie vodka. Top with whipped cream and more cinnamon sugar.

Make a mimosa: To a champagne glass, add 1-part apple pie vodka, 2 parts champagne, and a splash apple cider.

Make a Moscow mule: To a copper mug, add ice, 2 parts apple pie vodka, 3 parts ginger beer, and a lemon wedge.
