The Texas Tech Red Raider Men's Basketball team has been to the NCAA tournament 18 times in their basketball history.

The first time was in 1954, then again in 1956. Their first back-to-back trips came in 1961 and 1962. There were six trips over three decades in the 70s, 80s, and 90s before Bob Knight and Chris Beard became responsible for seven of the eight trips since 2000.

This year's NCAA Tournament will mark the Red Raiders first time ever to make it to the NCAA Tournament for three straight seasons. You could argue with an asterisk that Beard's teams have been to four straight tournaments because they likely would have been in last season as well.

The Red Raiders' success in the NCAA tournament is fairly recent too, with the only Elite 8 runs coming with Chris Beard, as well as the only Final Four appearance and National Title game played in 2019.

How did the Red Raiders fare in the rest of the NCAA Tournament Appearances? Let's take a look.
