Earlier this week a passenger flying from Houston to London passed away following what officials are calling a heart attack.

The woman, who was on a red-eye from Houston, likely suffered the heart attack "somewhere over the Atlantic [ocean]." Because the victim suffered the apparent heart attack over the Atlantic, the flight continued to London where emergency services were waiting on the flight to land.

According to the Houston Chronicle, United Airlines issued a statement about the incident earlier this week:

United Airlines confirmed the incident with a statement of its own Wednesday, and offered condolences for the family of the deceased woman, who has yet to be publicly identified, per Rose.

"A customer onboard United flight 880 today, from Houston London Heathrow, experienced a medical to emergency onboard," a United spokesperson said. "Medical personnel met the aircraft on arrival at London Heathrow. We extend our deepest condolences to the customer's family and loved ones."

At the time, the story did not say whether or not the woman was traveling alone or if she was with family at the time. As of the publication of this story, her name has not been released.
