The pizza business is tougher than you think.

It looks like the bell has tolled for West Crust Pizza. Although their Facebook page says that though the north side store is closed, new owners will be opening locations elsewhere.

This news comes on the heels of Hungry Howie's packing it in earlier this month.

Pizza is usually a high-margin item, meaning it doesn't cost that much to make and you can sell it for a little less than what other dinners go for. Market congestion is no doubt to blame for some of these losses, but it's also hard to ignore the fact that it's the more exotic varieties calling it quits, while the mainstream chains seem to be doing fine.

West Crust's final day will be Wednesday, November 27th, 2019.
