Well-Known Lubbock Chefs Come Together To Open One Stop Food Shop
A new specialty shop called Comfort Zone 88 is open in Lubbock and it is your one-stop shop with all kinds of different foods.
They have a combination of different specialties in their group and all well known in the community. The group consists of The Kettle Corn Guy, The Fried Pie Girl, Nut Kra-zee, Bella J's Premium Ice Cream, Crepes and More, Gam's Casseroles & Bakery, Sassy Buns, and El Molino Tortilla Factory.
The Kettle Corn Guy started out about 14 years ago in his driveway on his food trailer popping, selling, delivering, and fundraising.
Miss Melissa, The Fried Pie Girl has been around for about 7 years doing Fried Pies. She used to have a little shop on Indiana but sold it. All her pies are homemade starting with the dough, to the fillings, and off to the fryer she goes.
Nut Kra-zee Miss Carol has been doing Candied Nuts, Candied Pretzels and confections for as long as she can remember.
Bella J's Premium Ice Cream, Crepes and More, Miss Teresa has ice cream flavors like butter toffee, Oh Nuts it's Pecan Praline and Pistachio. She also has a candy section she has brought in including gummies, rock candy, hard candy and puck cakes.
Gam's Casseroles & Bakery makes heat and serve casseroles. She dedicates a lot of time every day to cook for you so you don't have to. Some of these casseroles include Chicken Spaghetti, Green Chili Chicken Enchiladas, Dinosaur eggs, Chicken Pot Pies, Sheppard's Pie, and the list goes on. Most of these casseroles are offered in smaller portions for a single person who doesn't want to cook. On the bakery side of things, she has chocolate chip and peanut butter cookies. She also has Banana Nut, Lemon Blueberry, Zucchini, and Banana Chocolate Chip Bread. Brownies, cake slices, (whole cakes if ordered), and whole pies (by order).
Sassy Buns makes homemade cinnamon rolls from Thursday to Saturday. Local El Molino Tortilla Factory carries its delicious chips and salsa.
They also have some new things coming up in the next couple of weeks: a soup bar, single chicken pot pies, meat pies, a coffee bar, Italian ice, lemonades, bubble teas, and gift baskets.
They are still under construction but are open, and hopefully will have their grand opening at the beginning of February.
They are located at 12411 University Suite #2 and their phone number is (806) 577-0110. They are open from Tuesday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. You can find out more about them on Facebook.
