After many years of touring with the likes of Kenny Chesney, Mathew "Uncle Kracker" Shafer is on tour as a headliner this year with special guests Sonia Leigh and Ty Stone. Uncle Kracker is supporting his new single "My Hometown" off of a soon to be released album coming out in May called Postcards from Home. Uncle Kracker seems a bit happier with his new release because of the fact that he had fewer distractions and was allowed to pretty much do what he wanted in the studio. Calling the new album a departure of what you would normally expect an Uncle Kracker album to sound like. He feels like he has been re-releasing the same song over and over again for the past few years. "Everything has to change" according to Uncle Kracker "or things get too stagnant." "So change is good."
