The Texas Department of Public Safety released information on two separate traffic accidents that occurred on Tuesday, December 7th.


Two Lubbock men were killed in a wreck in Hockley County.

Authorities report the crash happened at 9:20 p.m. on U.S. Highway 84 just under 3 miles west of Anton.

An investigation revealed a 2005 GMC Sierra 1500 pickup truck was traveling east on U.S. 84 in the inside westbound lane. Meanwhile, a 2018 Hyundai Sonata was traveling west in the inside westbound lane. Both vehicles collided, resulting in the deaths of both drivers.

The drivers were identified as 63 year-old Daniel Dwain Orr and 53 year-old Mark Magsanay.


A fatal pedestrian-involved crash occurred in Garza County.

The crash happened just before 10 p.m. on U.S. Highway 84, about 6 miles north of Post.

Authorities say a pedestrian was walking along U.S. 84 in the outside lane when they were struck by a 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan driven by 32 year-old Adan Lopez Cabrera. The pedestrian, identified as 40 year-old Melissa Ann Torres, was pronounced dead at the scene.
