Maybe even Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid visited a Harvey House. Who knows? The Harvey House in Slaton is a wonderful part of history that's being kept alive and this weekend offering even more. Back in the late 1800s until the 1940s, when the Santa Fe Railroad cars were filled with passengers, they'd stop for a dinner break at Harvey Houses, stationed in several states along the Santa Fe route. The long vacant Harvey House in Slaton has been refurbished by Slatonites.

Here's your chance to see some of the original Fred Harvey china and silverware and other items from the past at a free exhibit Saturday. And your Thomas the Train kids will think the model railroad studio is really cool.
