I know I've said this before, but this time it looks like it really is happening. BBQ lovers in Lubbock rejoice, because The Shack BBQ is coming back and really soon after being closed for a year.

The Shack BBQ, which closed in June 2020 during the height of the coronavirus pandemic, is coming back, but with new owners. Previous owners Kyle and Kelly Farris sold the building and recipes earlier in the year after searching for months for someone to take over the business.

In April, it appeared as though The Shack was getting closer to reopening, but hit a few snags along the way. Plus, they had to hire some new staff members, and if you've driven around Lubbock lately, everyone seems to be hiring.

But now it appears The Shack is ready to reopen under new ownership. According to a Facebook post, The Shack BBQ is set to reopen this Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.:

Guess what y'all????? Finally we are ready to open!!! We are so sorry for the delays and let downs. We are so excited to be back. We cannot express to y'all how much we appreciate everyone's patience and continued love and support!!! Lubbock y'all are amazing!!! Come see us Friday June 11th for opening day. We will run Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 11am to 3pm. We can't wait to see everyone!!!!

I can't wait to stop by and try some of the ribs and brisket again. I also hope they will be able to extend their hours and days that they are open once they get things rolling.
