The Louise Hopkins Underwood Center for the Arts (LHUCA) is set to hold the 20th annual Flatlands Film Festival in Lubbock starting this Thursday.

Flatland Film Festival was established in 2003. Flatland Film Festival is a program of LHUCA that aims to cultivate an appreciation for film, video, and the digital moving-image expression and to support artists working in this mode of expression. Over the past 20 years, Flatland Film Festival has been fortunate to have filmmakers from all over the world screen their work and provide personal insight into their inspiration and motivation by participating in panel discussions. Flatland Film Festival attendees have experienced a diverse collection of feature films, documentaries, shorts, animations, music videos, art installations, and other forms of creative sight and sound that stimulate emotion and challenge your perspective.

The film festival goes from September 21st through the 23rd. Day passes cost $5 or $10 depending on the day, festival passes cost $15, and student passes cost $10.

The festival “will celebrate filmmaking excellence with feature films, short films, and special filmmaker panels.”

The festival will be held in the LHUCA Firehouse Theater at 511 Avenue K.
