South Plains Fair Opens Soon, Here’s What You Need To Know
It is one of the best time of the year again, The South Plains Fair is back and there are some stuff you need to know.
The fair's preview night will kick off on Thursday, September 21st, 2022 with Buck-a-Ride night from 6 to 11 p.m. This is a great time to go for families, with free parking and admission, and $1 rides all night long.
The actual South Plains Fair is scheduled to start on Friday, September 22 at 8:30 a.m. and will run until September 30.
The big thing to note for this year is that the fair now has a clear bag policy. All bags must be clear plastic, vinyl, or a small clutch and are subject to search.
They have also done some improvements on the fairgrounds such as 8 covered seating areas throughout the park.
The fair changed the website/ticketing company so now you can purchase admission online ahead a time and use credit cards at the gate.
Last year they added beer and wine stations and this year they expanding the beer locations and making them bigger and brighter so that they stand out. There is a new food vendor El Meson Del Maestro, doing tacos.

Adults, 13 and over: $10.00
Children ages 2 – 12: $5.00
Kids ages 1 and under: Free

Fridays: 8:00 a.m. – Midnight
Saturdays: 8:00 a.m. – Midnight

Monday – Thursday: 3:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.
Fridays: 3:00 p.m. – Midnight
Saturdays: 11:00 a.m. – Midnight
Sunday: 11:00 a.m. – 11:00 p.m.

Monday – Friday: 1:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.
Saturdays and Sundays: 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 p.m.
“Special Nights” are offered at The South Plains Fair.

Thursday, September 28, College Night: Present your current college ID and enter the gate for $5.
Thursday, September 28 is also Wristband Day: $40 Wristband to ride unlimited rides from 3:00 p.m.-11:00 p.m.
