Most coaches will tell you that conference play is the most important part of the season. To start off conference play with a win is huge. That is exactly what the Texas Tech Lady Raiders did Wednesday night.

The 13th ranked Lady Raiders outlasted Oklahoma State 58-53. With the win Tech remains undefeated at 13-0 and now get off to a good start at 1-0 in the Big 12.

It wasn't easy. The game was close all the way. But the Tech bench came through with Mary Bokenkamp hitting a 3 pointer with 3:30 left in the game to put the Lady Raider ahead for good.

In fact the Tech bench contributed 19 points in the win. With production from those coming off the bench will do nothing but help as Tech continues on through Big 12 play.

A great moment at the game came at the end. In honor of OSU'S coach Kurt Budke and assistant coach Miranda Serna, both of who died in a plane crash earlier this year, the players and coaches from both teams stood arm in arm as the Tech alumni band played the Oklahoma State alma mater. It was just a great scene.

The Lady Raiders will hit the road and travel to Missouri to play the Tigers on Saturday.
