Baseball Hall of Famer Yogi Berra is credited with saying, "it ain"t over, til it's over". Well that certainly describes yesterday game between Texas Tech and Houston at Dan Law Field at Rip Griffin Park.

Tech was up 9 to 1 at 7 innings. Then, Houston exploded for 6 runs in the top of the 8th and another 2 in the top of 9th tying the game at 9 apiece.

But Tech kept battling and in the bottom of the 12th inning, Barrett Barnes beat out an infield single, scoring Nick Hanslik from third.

It was just another great example of not getting down, keep fighting to pull out the win, just like the 14 inning win Tech had over Texas.

There were some bright spots. Wolforth native Nick Hanslik in his first start of the season went 4 for 6 with 2 runs and 2 RBI'S. Stephen Hagen, starting his second game as the designated hitter went 2 for 4 , and knocking out his first home run of the season.

Those are some players that are seeing their first action of the season and making the most of it.

It was the first series sweep for Tech this season and the first since sweeping Kansas last year.

This should provide a lot of confidence and momentum for the Red Raiders as they host the New Mexico Lobos Tuesday and Wednesday.

Sweep the Lobos and Tech should feel really good about itself when they hit the road to Stillwater to play Oklahoma State this weekend.
