A lockdown at South Plains College in Lubbock County was lifted Wednesday afternoon after local authorities responded to a report of a man with a gun.

According to Everything Lubbock, Lubbock County Sheriff's Deputies and South Plains College campus police received a report that an armed man had entered the school's Reese Center campus just before noon.

The Reese Technology Center was placed on lockdown for a short time following reports that there was an active shooter situation.

According to SPC campus police, there was a family dispute on campus. However, the family and the alleged man with a gun left the scene.

Since the initial report came in about the man wielding a gun, officials are now unsure if he actually had a gun.
