Donut fans, rejoice: Shipley's Do-Nuts off 19th Street and the Loop is finally open after months of waiting.

They posted the good news to their Facebook page, saying:

We are thrilled to announce the opening of our second location in Lubbock this Monday, October 18th. Everyone gets a free glazed donut from 5am- 11am. We also give away small chocolate milk for kids. Come and see us at 5911 19th St, Lubbock, TX 79407.

So we went out there Monday morning to check it out. Obviously I'm not a kid, but they still let me celebrate with a free glazed donut and chocolate milk. Plus, an employee told me they will be giving them out all day, not just until 11 a.m. If that's true, I guess you'll have to check out for yourself, but she did seem very sure of it. We tried calling their other location to confirm, but they didn't answer, so...good luck!

While you can now go see them at 19th Street or University, they have a lot of different options to choose from. I went with a lot of chocolate and got the chocolate milk and a chocolate donut. I mean, it's Monday, so let's get the sugar flowing.

When we were there, it wasn't too busy, but they were happy to see us. The staff was friendly and the drive-thru was ready.

It's been more than two years since we first reported on the opening of Shipley's first location on University Avenue, and almost as long since they've been planning this second spot. Now, finally, on October 18th, 2021, we got what we needed: a sugar high in the mornings.

If they're like the other location, their hours will be Monday through Sunday, 5 a.m. - 6 p.m.

If you know any new places opening up or want us to cover somewhere cool please email me! I love trying new places, contact me, kelsee.pitman@townsquaremedia.com.
