In an appropriate day as we hear American forces have killed the world's greatest terrorist, Osama Bin Laden, a rose garden will be completed to honor military vets. Finishing touches will be done this morning 9-noon at a garden of red and white roses at the The Lubbock Area Veterans War Memorial at 82nd and Nashville. The garden was planned a year ago as a combined effort of George S. Berry American Legion Post #575, the City Parks and Recreation Dept and Master Gardeners Nell Rains and Victoria Price. Gardeners are using EarthKind roses to depict the strength of those men and women who have and are serving our country. Red Knock-Out roses represent their courage and White Ducher roses for their honor. In this song, the great Conway Twitty expresses the power of the rose.
