As a Texas Tech alumni, I knew West Texas had a special place in my heart as soon as I drove in. The love and support this city shows to people makes it really hard to ever leave.

After four years in college and four more in the news industry, the opportunity to change to a new exciting role, a country DJ, fell into my lap and here we are. My love for country music strummed up since I was little. From being barely able to walk, jamming out with my grandfather to Tom T. Hall or my first concert, The Dixie Chicks, the chance to put supporting local businesses and my music passion together was never a thought...until now.

When I'm not working, I love trying new things and new places. I always say, I'll try almost anything once, especially if it's food. That's why I created my Ate06Foodie account -- to not only share my adventures, but also promote Lubbock businesses.

Besides music and food, I love the outdoors and being with my loved ones. Growing up in Austin, anywhere on the water is a good place to be. From floating the river, wake surfing on the lake or just chillin at the beach, that's where I am my happiest.

I'm so excited and honored to be on Lonestar 99.5 weekdays from 3 to 7 p.m. to not only share Lubbock's #1 new country, but also what's happening in the community. If you aren't in your car, make sure you tune in on the website or download our app here to be able to listen to me anywhere. I look forward to meeting each and everyone of you and making these airwaves a home away from home.

If you ever need to reach me, social media or my email is the best bet: Kelsee.Pitman@townsquaremedia.com, @Kelseepitman (Twitter) and Kelsee Pitman (Facebook). And remember, it's always good to be a Red Raider.
