Lubbock Police continue to investigate a shooting that left one person dead at around 12:15 p.m. on Thursday, November 12th.

It's reported that officers responded to a shots fired call at Orlando's Italian Restaurant, located at 6951 Indiana Avenue. Officers located 19-year-old Haven Trevino when they arrived on the scene. Trevino was suffering from life-threatening gunshot wounds and was later pronounced dead at a hospital.

Then, at about 12:20 p.m., only about 5 minutes after the first call, Lubbock Police received a call of a suicidal man at 102 North Avenue P. The caller indicated that the man had killed his girlfriend.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found 20-year-old Isaiah Mesa with a self-inflicted life-threatening gunshot wound.

Officers have determined that the two calls were related, and that Mesa was the suspect from the first shooting.

Mesa was transported by EMS to University Medical Center for his injuries.

No further details have been revealed by police as of the writing of this article, like what lead to the shooting. Updates will be provided once an investigation reveals more information.

KAMC News reports that Mesa had previous arrests for aggravated robbery, tampering with evidence and other charges, but court records didn't indicate a conviction on any of those charges. Pictures from KAMC also show crime tape being set up around both scenes.
